The Rev. Jeanne Finan,

Rector of St. John's

 Rev. Jeanne Finan began her ministry at St. John's on July 1, 2007.

 Rev. Jeanne is a cum laude graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary and served for four years as the Associate Rector at St. Mary of the Hills, Blowing Rock. A native of Raleigh, NC, she has been a resident of Western North Carolina for 12 years. She is the author of Remember Your Baptism: Ten Meditations (Cowley Publications) and she is also currently doing postgraduate work in Celtic Christianity at the University of Wales. She is in the process of writing two more books, one about her experience with her mother and Alzheimer's Disease and the other one about prayer.

    In addition to being a priest, Jeanne is also a wife, a mother and a grandmother. Her husband, Tom Eshelman, is the director of the Valle Crucis Conference Center. Their daughter, Benares, and her husband, Jeff, live in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Her son Jody, and his wife Natalie, and their three children live in Colorado.

    St. John's Vestry is composed of nine individuals, three of whom are elected at the Annual Meeting in early December to serve staggered three year terms. They provide leadership for the parish and oversee the following areas by appointment of committees/workgroups which meet as needed: Building/Grounds, Christian Formation, Communications, Finance, Memorial Garden, Outreach, and Worship.

    During 2008, the Vestry is composed of the following individuals:
