Our Ministry St John’s is a community of ministers, where individual gifts are awakened and nurtured by the power of the Holy Spirit. These gifts are offered to God through ministry and service to one another, the community and the world.
Outreach The members of St John’s have always been generous and faithful in working to assist those in the community and beyond. Through the church and on our own, we spend many hours and dollars helping to create a better life for both adults and children.
• For more than ten years, members have volunteered time and money to Habitat for Humanity by helping to complete six “Episcopal Houses” in the Asheville area.
• Room in the Inn is an interfaith response to the need for emergency shelter for women in our community and we volunteer to the success of this program.
• We collect food for Manna Food Bank, assist in disaster relief, contribute to Asheville-Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM), and sponsor a little league baseball team.
• We recently have embraced an ambitious project to build a home for one of our older members who was burned out. Together, we completed and equipped a new home for Betsy Posey.
Our parish hall is used frequently by various groups in the community. As Christians, we are called to help our brothers and sisters as the need arises.
